Harbour Women’s Health Assists with Continuity of Care For Cigna Patients Following February 1st Deadline

Portsmouth, NH – Harbour Women’s Health has announced their commitment to assisting their current obstetric patients who may be affected by insurance contract negotiations. This announcement comes in response to the current contract negotiations between Cigna and HCA Healthcare, the company that owns Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Cigna insurance customers were recently notified that Portsmouth Regional Hospital may no longer be in-network as of February 1, 2020.

“Our providers and office staff are closely monitoring the situation with Cigna,” said Caroline Scoones, MD, of Harbour Women’s Health. “We understand rising concerns and are dedicated to working closely with our patients and their insurance providers to ensure they are receiving the quality of care they deserve. It is important that our patients deliver their babies with providers they know and trust.”

Harbour Women’s Health reports patients who have high-risk pregnancies or who have already entered their third trimester may be able to continue receiving services from their original provider through delivery. The providers of Harbour Women’s Health are committed to advocating for their patients to ensure they receive the highest quality of care while reducing risks to mother and baby related to obstetric transfers.

The Harbour Women’s Health providers are proud to perform deliveries at the Seacoast Family Care Services at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. We maintain a close and communicative relationship with maternal fetal medicine specialists and are dedicated to delivering high-quality, seamless and continuous care for all patients.

Office staff at Harbour Women’s Health are reaching out to our obstetric patients who are currently covered by Cigna insurance to answer questions and provide support. We encourage patients to call our Portsmouth office at (603) 431-6011 with any questions or concerns.
